Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Cornea Specialist?
A cornea specialist is an ophthalmologist (eye surgeon) who is fellowship-trained and dedicated to the health and function of the cornea, ocular surface, lens and other anterior ocular structures.
The cornea is the clear, dome-shaped, outermost layer of the eye. Like the windshield of a car, it serves to protect the eye. It also helps us see more clearly by focusing light. Many diseases can affect the cornea leading to vision loss. As cornea specialists, Dr. Koreishi and Dr. Ple-plakon are experienced and proficient in treating the complete range of routine and complex anterior eye diseases.
